As those who have met Matthew in person might guess, finding clothes for him is hard enough in the States but here is almost impossible. He got a few new things before we left Chicago but not quite enough and since he needs smart clothes for work we had to figure something out PDQ. Luckily for us, here there are a huge number of tailors who do extremely good work at extremely good rates. After a bit of a hunt, (and thanks to a friendly Egyptian guy who closed his mobile phone store to help the lost Westerners who had circled his block three times) down a side street we found a great little place and are having a pair of pants made for Matthew as a "test run" and if you can believe it for a custom pair of lovely lightweight wool pants it is running us the princely sum of $45 including fabric. The guys who run the place are really nice but being Indian are not the tallest chaps in the world and the rather low ceiling shop does prove to a bit of a head hazard for my giant of a husband!
