Our 2nd Halloween here and like last year, we continue exploring using odd Indian pumpkins for our jack o'lanterns instead of the usual (that are crazy-expensive here) ones from the US. These little guys are only about 5 inches in diameter each but certainly do the trick. The whole compound really gets into the swing of things and it's a nice change to have a very western holiday celebrated by so many people. We are all about embracing the differences of our life here, but every once in a while a reminder of something very familiar is welcome.
There's no Halloween in Germany either. I miss Chicago and all the spooky decorations this time of year. And no dressing up or candy for Felix.
