A quick jaunt

Matthew and I went away for a quick trip for my birthday last weekend. Just one night away up to Ras al Khaimah which is the Emirate just north of Dubai (past Sharjah where we went to the souk over break) thanks to a good groupon deal. It's right at the foot of the Hajar mountains and where we were staying there was very little to do around which was perfect. Room service and bad tv with no phones or kids was exactly the mini-retreat we wanted instead of traipsing around as we usually do. We came home through Dubai to pick up a few things we can't get in Al Ain and it was a lovely, relaxing little getaway.
