Our Guardian Lions

This is a favourite spot for the pair to sit, guarding the door from the kitchen into the main hall. They look like the guardian lions on the doorways at Hattusa in Turkey that we visited in the summer. This spot is most frequently occupied while I am cooking in case any tasty morsels drop to the ground, and as you can see Ovid has learnt the disdainful 'I'm so bored with all this' look from Nero very well.
