and toes crossed, even eyes crossed, as I think we have got all the difficulties sorted. When the bank informed us that our credit card application was held up by their policy changing and that was going to take at least a month if not longer to sort out, we started working on loan applications and other credit card applications. It was a tortuous process to say the least, as no-one here has any sense of urgency or is willing to actually answer a direct question.
But we have been able to sort out the payments to get both our stuff and Nero on the road to Al Ain. Our things are currently in New York getting put on the boat and Nero is en route as I type and we are picking him up this Thursday night. Huzzah!
It is more than a little horrifying however that you can spend just over ten grand in the space of two bank transfers which you are going to be paying off for the next two years.... but at least we will have all our things and our fat friend to keep us company while we write those monthly checks. And we would have had to write those checks anyway - either to the storage company while we sat in an empty house or to the bank while in our cosy house with our cat - hmmm, which is better...? ;)
